Magnolia heaven

New Orleans is known for her magnolias
usually though, we think of the evergreen kind
the appropriately named grandiflora

this is the first time in all my wanderings that I've been here in spring

and it's simply glorious

  8. ... just walked down memory lane: spent many a pleasant hour tramping through the Berkeley Botanic Garden during magnolia season. I remember how you could stand under the canopies and be all-aglow in *pinkness* & then when the blossoms fell, the ground would be covered in large pink blankets .... splendid ;>] So pleased you're seeing their glory!
