i am going to be so snuggly warm in my hoodie
stacking rocks at dawn on the Atlantic coast next month
the photos [using shake-it photo app] don't really do it justice
[but they make old-fashioned polaroid noises come out of the batfone]
stitching a few shiny pearl buttons on
to ward off the evil eye [just in case]
and of course
there is a pocket for a poem
a mite overexposed... |
Gorgeous... I am inspired to try my own jumper, not a hoodie, and not very heavy we don't get that cold up here.
ReplyDeletehugs
you could make a fabulous soft and light one from a number of old t-shirts...and maybe get into some Alabama stitching as well :o)
Deleteoutstanding.
ReplyDeletei'm in love with it...cos the 'raw' material is from a favourite place, it's dyed from home, the buttons are from a special friend in New Zealand AND it ticks all the boxes of warmth, security, sustainability
Deletebest of all
ANYONE can make one. really.
Fabulous hoodie !!!!
ReplyDeleteSo very artsy and earthy at the same time.
Don't know why you are stacking rocks on the Atlantic coast but do have fun !
Sharron
i'm going to Haystack in Maine as a student.
Deleteand every morning
i will be down by the water
making a rock stack...
wow! beautiful work-of-art hoodie.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I want one!!!
ReplyDeleteso easy...just be brave and cut and sew
Deleteand then
dye
Lovely transformation!
ReplyDeleteAaaaahhhhh
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! You inspire me India. Thank you for sharing your audacious talent and imagination with the world!
ReplyDeletethe biggest hurdle for me to overcome was
Deletegiving myself permission
to cut up clothes
looks like a snuggly one, for sure
ReplyDeleteoooh, that's TERRIF!
ReplyDeleteanother inspiring moment.........note to self: get a serger.
ReplyDeletethe serger [that's overlocker for locals] is fun [because you get long skinny slices of cloth for making string as a bonus] but not mandatory
Deleteplain stitching works quite as well
but if you DO get one
make sure you stitch with a good thread. i use the fine weight of the silk/cotton mix from www.beautifulsilks.com
it dyes so well
if you use standard polyester
it sticks out like the proverbial on a short-haired male dog.
Thank you. I am seriously considering this. Will Marion know which thread you use when I go to purchase it?
DeleteYes :0)
DeleteThe perfect coast attire, with a pocket for a poem, or, of course, a pebble from the sea.
ReplyDeleteearthy individuality fits the bill to afoot on the shoreline.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! The pocket for the poem really appeals to me..... and the button detail .... and stitching. A work of art!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Somehow some of my summer clothing shrunk :) while spending the winter packed up. I might give this a try so I can save a few of them. Thanks always for the inspiration India!
ReplyDeleteOh my. It must be epidemic. My summer clothing shrunk as well!!!
