Yes, the soft, turqoisey blue is one of my favorite colors; yet, I don't really have much of that color in my house . . . except for in that guest bedroom. I especially love it when paired with brown, rust, or orange.
Can turquoise colours be created by natural dyes? I've never been quite able to reach that incredible hue...... perhaps via copper mordanting? Hhhmm, must get my dyepot out and see....... ~Raven
you'll find that the colours released by indigo using the Michel Garcia methods are rather more variable than those using fiercer reductive agents. fabrics will respond differently according to their make-up. i've seen deep blues and turquoise come out of the same dye pot on different cloth...Indigofera australis [one of the thirty species of indigo endemic to Australia] consistently produces turquoise - woad on the other hand tends toward sky blue
