i've been feeling very bad
on the last day of my class in Vancouver I was given a card from my students
i put it away to read later because my attention was being called to something in the next room
thought i had gathered it up with the papers from the clothesline
and have been looking for it ever since
so if there was something in it that i haven't responded to
it's not because i am ignoring you
it's because i've lost it
and i'm sorry
that's all.
Dear India, What a brave thing to post it here. If the people did get to know you in the class like we did in Scotland they will know you would not do something like that on purpose. Another thing that you achieve by sharing is that we remember the moments we all had experiences like this and the feelings that comes with this kind of things. How could I be so ...........and keep looking over and over in our room and bags. Finally accepting it is like it is. xxx A Dutch sayins is: Het komt wel weer boven water. Or in google translate, so it might be funny: It'll be back above water
ReplyDeleteit has been on my conscience for over a month...and putting it out in the sunshine has somehow lightened my soul! and maybe it will float to the surface now...
DeleteAnd now that the disappearance of the card has been announced, it will likely show up. :-)
ReplyDeletethat would be lovely. i find so often if i am looking for something it tends to appear moments after i've asked the question aloud...usually to much laughter from my family. this one, not yet.

ReplyDeleteAs a workshop instructor who travels and teaches, I know how hectic it can be to pack, and then unpack at the location and then pack it all up again... I have found stuff stuck to the back of other stuff weeks later. I love the textured cloths in your post.
ReplyDeleteI spend half my life looking for things that I just had in my hand a short while ago. Sorry your card is lost, but who knows, it might turn up. Or your students will see this post strive to write again.
ReplyDeleteit turned up as i was packing to leave for Mansfield, where i am now!
