i had a truly joyous moment today
Audrey Fittall [one of the lovely group of Riverstitchers] swung by Beautiful Silks after class today and showed us all her delightful dress
begun in Goolwa
and completed with a dye-baptism last weekend.
it's truly delicious.

I love this design!!! lovely! Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
ReplyDeleteOh boy! This is beautiful!!!
ReplyDeletethe really cunning thing about this dress is that it's essentially a t-shirt + a large cotton long-sleeved shirt...stitched together and embellished....it's the HOW of the stitching, the placement of the short and the reshaping of the neck that has made it so marvellous...no pattern required...
ReplyDeleteoops typo, i meant 'shirt' not 'short' :)
DeleteThanks, India, for showing Audrey's wonderful dress. I'm guessing she reconstructed it in a class with you and dyed it, then embellished. Thanks too, for your description- very inspiring. Claudia
ReplyDeleteGorgeous gal. I love the way she's hooked it up like that. U inspire us all Indi to make beautiful creations. xxx
