being [t]here

leaving New Orleans was hard

but other work awaits

my two week artist residency at the Joan Mitchell Center
was extremely fruitful in many ways
and a few seeds for future projects were planted
meanwhile
back in Scotland
Tracey was working hard on the editing of our film
which is now done
and can be seen here

i will be back in Scotland next year
presenting a class i have entitled 'being [t]here'
which will be my only UK workshop in 2014
[because the calendar is full, not with teaching but with other commitments]

  2. I love the video and feel blessed to have been in Newburgh - and have had the pleasure of being at the river when you and Tracey re-recorded the sound of water playing on that most amazing drum. What a magical time.

To witness a poet walk the earth -- share her inner whispers. Pure. Rare gift in this age.

Please do more of these together. I did not want it to end.

  12. Watching you walk along the river, discovering, learning its rhythm, hearing your thoughts as you gather the treasures before you, creating on paper, on cloth, there is such a sense of spirit and deep joy from you that just transcends the boundaries of a computer screen. With gratitude and thanks for all that you give and continue to share with all of us...

  13. Lovely film! Was great to see you unwrapping your dyed bundle by the water. And the workshop is already full - maybe next time. I'll just have to keep experimenting.
