Kowhai [the piglet]
is doing just fine
somewhat comatose in these pix
from a day of romping with assorted dogs, cats and humans
[the top pic shows her snoozing on her favourite mattress...my lap]

    1. absolutely...which brings me to one of the few advantages of living in the driest state on the driest continent

      ...no tics.

      ergo

no bugs on the cute ear!

  4. The colors and stripes on kowhai's coat fit in so well with your ecoprints!

    1. there will come a time when her metric tonnage cannot me accommodated by laps. that's going to be interesting and quite possibly a battle of wills. visions of those golden retrievers who have booted their lenient "owners" out of king sized beds etc...

  6. so does Kowhai grow up into a big pig? and will she always be a pet pig? wonder if she'll have piglets of her own...

    1. at the rate she is expanding she'll be an elephant-sized pig, destined to live out her life in relative luxury. i'm afraid she will remain a spinster, but fortunately there's another rescue pig [Miss Pigsley, who should have been called Kiri because she sings ALL the time] here [about 4 months older] so she will have a companion.

but i've had to stamp my size 9 boots. no additional pigs, sweet as they are. in summer in Oz it's far too hard to source fresh greens for them to eat, especially when there isn't enough water to keep a garden going!

  7. I want a pig. How do you think they would get on with 2 chihuahua's and a bossy siamese cat who likes to pick up the 2 lb pup and take her for a forward roll across the room.

    1. i think you'll find the siamese cat will probably enjoy sitting on the 300lb piggycushion when it grows up :0)

  8. piglet is the cutest!! piglet seems happy. i have heard piglets make good "children". how do you pronounce her name. phonetically? it is probably a good thing she has friends.

currently loving your ECO Colour book!!! i'm tripping.....the photography is magic, capturing my emotions. i feel the color and textures. i am having so much fun.

i can go around the world and back in time and learn fabric, textures and dyes. natural beauty. cloth that becomes a part of a person, working with, dying, designing....this you show is art for sure. a journey, a path , in fabric.

and now to read and see what shakes out for me.

    happy new week.

thank you for sharing so many good things.

    1. Kowhai is pronounced Koh-fai...meaning yellow in Maori, also the name of a beautiful tree

      see

so named by her rescuers as she is an [almost] golden piggie and likely to become entirely so.

i am glad you are enjoying the book...negotiations on another are at long last looking like a seed might sprout after all :0)

  10. Glad to see that piglet is well.. we have a rescue puppy who was the same size, but is now 23 kilos at 10 months. I suspect wee piggy Kowhai will be a decent size..
