a brilliant new exhibition showing at the Art Gallery of South Australia
drawn entirely from their collection
charts the evolution of contemporary indigenous painting in Australia
some of the works can be viewed here
all of them are reproduced beautifully in the exhibition catalogue
the sort of publication that i wish i could
carry dozens of - in my travel bag
to give as gifts when i go wandering

    I iwsh I knew more about contemporary indigenus art..
    I cant help bu tge tthe feeling some prices are compelely inflated.
    As much as I love some.

  2. At first glance, I thought these were pictures of stitches...on fabric...especially that last one. Oh, these are quite, quite marvelous! I love how one of your links provides HUGE images when clicked, can really see detail.

    And about that last one...think I might have to play with some thread mimicry :>}
