it's suddenly dawned on me that it's nearly a year since i began this lark...storytelling in fluffy space...and so i thought i'd celebrate by giving someone else a present.
there's a catch though...first you'll have to read some pearls [possibly of wisdom] and then you'll have to contribute a few of your own.
post a pearl in the comments and on January 14th [South Australian time....so that'll be the 13th for you Statesiders] Martha-muu will help me to pick a lucky-dip winner from the hat [felt, of course]
i'll then post the name of the winner, who will have to supply me with their postal address so that i can send them an eco-print surprise... a present from the Prophet of Bloom.

ReplyDeleteMy pearls are southern country: "What I see, others see" (as in if you notice something awry); and, "If it's not one thing, its two things" (from a former co-worker vis-a-vis a family maid.
Another of my mother's sayings which has walked with me many a mile is 'Leave not until to-morrow what you can do to-day', that one we all know and have at some time suffered under, but mother had the convers as well, when I was obvioysly over tired, the old Latvian saying 'work is not a rabbit, it won't run away' would come to the fore.

Congratulations on your blog anniversary India. I saw my words of wisdom on a sign board outside a local hall, 'an eye for an eye, soon everyone is blind'. This appealed to me.

As someone whose endeavors are almost never done halfheartedly, I have always been inspired by this quote from Goethe when embarking on something new: "At the moment of commitment, the entire universe conspires to assist you." More often than not, I have found this to be true in my life.
