narcissus encircling a stone ruin, you'll just have to imagine the delicious scent...
a ewe, clearly optimistic about how the season will shape up, has produced triplets. obviously she hasn't read the newspaper and doesn't realise we are about to become a desert through climate change...or maybe she just knows better!
and Sam the Hunter, doing his bit for the environment by having a daily snack of wild baby bunny. clearly this is not an image for the squeamish reader. bear in mind though, that since the British introduced the wild rabbit to Australia a lot of environmental damage has been done by these otherwise delightful creatures. and I'd rather Sam caught bunnies than robins!
I agree. My fat cat (appropriately named Gobbles) can have all the bunnies he desires, so long as he leaves the birds alone.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm, spring is certainly around the corner, although we are in the midst of storms. My garden has some of those yummy smelly white flowers too although they may blow away today. I met ur mum today via her blog, made me smile when I saw her comment on my site and realised who she is. I hope u have lots of pumpkin recipes. As for me, I am finally at home, resting for TWENTY weeks all by my lovely self, indulging in the arts of handmade and snoozing and snacking and belly rubbing. I have put study on hold but not art. And I am loving every minute of it. Finally have some peace about things and feeling quite blissful actually. I love the photos of your land, your trees, your dog, your papa kainga (homelands). It is all so delicious.
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful photo. I have an ancient wooden bottle containing oil of narcissus sent to my mom from Egypt during the 2nd World War. The scent is still pretty good....would you believe it.
ReplyDeleteCats....you either like or dislike them...I respect them and agree that they have their purpose...as long as the birds and small animals are left alone i don't mind....quicker to die by a cat than Mxy....I adore your photos...very talented am off to llok further into your world...thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteSo glad to have found you, thanks to Jude (Spirit Cloth). I have already ordered your book - the postage is horrific (to USA) - and I'm very eager to receive it. We have lots of mushrooms, all different kinds. I'm far too wimpy to try eating them, but I'll happily experiment with them. :)
ReplyDeleteoil of narcissus seems to be pretty intoxicating stuff...according to legend twas used in Italy some centuries ago to induce madness (by filling a room with the concentrated aroma).
ReplyDeletelovely on the paddock, though...
Thanks for checking out my blog. I love yours. It communicates wonderful things about your life, at least to those of us who appreciate such things as soil, and lichen, and dresses for window curtains! I am majorly looking forward to receiving your book. I am also adding you to my blogrolls - the wanderer's blog (listed under "Beautiful Dreamers" and the Australia indigenous plants dye blog (listed under "For Love of Fiber").
ReplyDeleteI love the series of pics of your dog - perfect!
