to install my pieces for the exhibition
How Does Your Garden Grow?

glimpse of the catalogue |
i was accompanied by my "assistant"
who voraciously consumed quantities of milk while busily charming the socks off the gallery crew
|
glimpse of the cat |
but fortunately fell asleep long enough for me to paint my poem on the wall
[using an indigo-flavoured milk and lime mix]

each precious drop [installation view] |
please join us there on Sunday March 30 at 2.30 to see the work of Dana Kinter, Petrus Spronk, Morgan Allender and Matthew Bradley[and mine in reality as opposed to batfone-snaps]
at the end of the day my assistant was exhausted
me too.
PS the bones were donated by Ginger, a jersey cow who died from natural causes [i think snakebite counts as natural in Australia] some years ago and who was buried respectfully but whose remains were exposed after a vicious north wind that blew the mound away.
I think this is my favourite (via batphone) installation of yours experienced to date.... I'm loving the indigo/milk poetics... and shadow bones ....
ReplyDeletethat the post comes complete with kitty is a bonus
Beautiful bone shadows!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful India .... I think I recognise Yoda's yoga position too .... I had to laugh ....
ReplyDeleteOh my. Poetry in every form, I think. The kitty.
ReplyDeleteLoving it and deeply touched as I face a very long season of drought ahead.
ReplyDeleteAgreed the situation in California is grim to say the least
DeleteI do love me some dyed bones
ReplyDeleteThat installation looks just amazing... and the poem speaks to me, also. As for the kitten! Cuter than the average button!
ReplyDeleteindia you are a very good exhibitor too, i wounder what you have done with bones very interesting - all of it. the face of the kitten are wounderful
ReplyDeleteYour kitten is just about the cutest thing ever. Lovely work too.
ReplyDeleteThe exhibition looks fantastic! I would love to visit - for obvious reasons....I can't. Maybe you're going to publish a catalogue?
ReplyDeleteHave a great day, best wishes from eva
A catalogue has been published by the curator - you might be able to negotiate a copy by emailing the gallery
Deletebeautiful and meaningful, very impressive, I am in awe, you are so busy and productive.
ReplyDeleteI'm delighted, thank you!
ReplyDeletelove the dripping shadows making a splash
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful.. and that kitten you should scoop it up and take it home with you!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter scooped it up from somewhere else...I was on grandma duty and working at the same time
DeleteAND fieldnotes arrived today .. huge excitement .. it is beautiful, India, and also, on first read, it took me back to what your work is really about ... so, thank you for all of it.
ReplyDeleteWow that was quick ! Thank you for the kind words me dear
Delete"The force Luke, the force!". Sorry, couldn't resist! Lol! Little Yoda is a cutie and does resemble his/her namesake. Anyway, as usual I've sidetracked myself---your work is exquiste as usual---the poetry and textiles. You are one very talented woman.
ReplyDeleteKittens, textiles and poetry...what a gorgeous combination!
ReplyDeleteAm quite taken with that cat-napping-sack + teeny tootsies flung in the air ... but still, not enough diversion to take away the deep meaning of poem, pini, and bones from the sky. phew. dang fine stuff.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, love the way you have hung your work.
ReplyDeletea month + late and a garden dry i would love to be there. thanks for the peek.
ReplyDeleteWish I was close enough to come to the exhibition - looks wonderful. And kitty assistant is so gorgeous my heart melted. I wonder if I can sneek another kitten into the house without my husband noticing?
ReplyDeleteI so wish I could be there to see it all in person, but what I can see here is enough to touch me deeply...
ReplyDeleteFabulous exhibition; your assistant exquisite! I just love kittens! x
