to my special place.
you might find me here
or here
looking for 'stone folders' for my students
or
stacking rocks
or
applying seawater-as-mordant to my dress made of Alabama Chanin organic cotton [which i have very nearly finished stitching together]
or
just looking out for this schooner i first saw
in 1976
i was on the headlands
and the Aldebaran [i'm pretty sure it was the same boat]
passed under the bridge
- there's proof in my slides, if only i could find them -
[images above thieved from a Bay area sailing site]
i'll be back sometime
with stories
and
perhaps
the odd splash of colour
Gone......but not forgotten. ......a whole lot of us are awaiting the vision of your Natalie dress! Wind at your back......safe travels!
ReplyDeleteThe boat is gorgeous... makes me want to go on a cruise with my folks... but they no longer have their boat, sigh. Happy stacking, dyeing, playing collecting... fogging.
ReplyDeleteI am sitting here in the (soggy) Pacific northwest just hummin' that tune..."I left my heart...."
ReplyDeleteAnd I don't know where I put my ruby slippers either :>/
SO looking forward to your upcoming tales and our first view of that dress!
Welcome to foggy/sunny SF! Do you plan a workshop here? Enjoy the trip to California! Lots of salty seawater and eucalyptus here to play with. We now have indigo being grown just north in Marin.
ReplyDeletehave fun! (make sure you drop by and share piccies - ahhhhh I don't need to travel when I can live vicariously through others....)
ReplyDeleteSeeing the GGB always creates a longing inside me ... looking forward to more splashy stories and odd colour. ;)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
ReplyDeleteI was just there and loved my time by the sea!
