in flight entertainment

"what's that you're doing, dearie?"
asked the kindly flight attendant
in the gentle tone usually reserved for
the very young, the very old
or the deeply deranged

"stitching" i reply

"and what will you do with it when it's finished?"

"roll it up with leaves and cook it" i say

flight attendant backs away hastily

    I'm laughing! your story reminded me of one day last week when the neighbour's teenage girls came round. I couldn't resist showing them my steaming bundles with blothes of brown appearing through the cloth. They were very polite; but I'm sure they now think I'm very strange!

    I had something similiar, I was at the car repair and a mother with her daughter said "what are you working on?" and I said "a piece of cloth" the little girl then said "Is that sewing?" and before I could answer the mother pursed her lips, rolled her eyes and harumphed "That's what it is alright" Like I had just performed a satanic ritual in front of her child. HA! I love your answer better.

    Had I known you could actually bring a sewing needle on board legally, I would have been stitching on all those very long flights instead of watching a mundane in flight movie. Thanks for the tip : )

    Simply brilliant! I used to be an Air Load Master on Raf Vc10s and I would have walked away too back then had a pax answered that .... but now? Id be all over them asking questions lolol Fab pice of work
