Hi India, I just spent 5 nights in Adelaide and came home on the Overland through the Mt Lofty Ranges. It is becoming built up and I am sure that Mount Barker grows overnight. S.A. has some big water issues to address but I must commend them for banning plastic shopping bags. We took calico bags with us and not one place we shopped at offered us a bag. I am also watching with interest the Shire Council that wants to ban the sale of bottled water? Maybe other states may catch on soon, one can hope. We had over three inches of rain here while I was gone, coming home the paddocks from Horsham onwards had sheets of water everywhere. Have not seen that in years. By the way I am glad that I only drank coffee and alcohol while I was there! The lime tree here is breaking it's branches, perfect for a G n T . Debbie.
the bottled water issue is a serious one...i did a few sums a couple of years ago at the UNESCO dye symposium in Hyderabad, based on the observation that most people consumed at least 4 small bottles of water there each day and attendance was approximately 700 over 6 days that's 16800 plastic bottles that weren't recycled...the instructions on the side read "crush before throwing away"
aloha india, the first cup of tea is a bless'n made from sweet well water here on the Ledge on the continent of the americas. never do i take for granted the clarity of this water, enjoying the wetness without the plastic caddy that yes do fill the Mother with yet one more bit of opala (crapola)she'll be needing to exhale when the volcano blows. mokihana
Gin, preferably Bombay, is always the better alternative/antidote!
ReplyDeleteyum!.... in Galway over here last year they had nice drinking water primarily made up of most forms of evil bacteria!
ReplyDeletei'm with you there, Lei...Bombay is decidedly the gin of choice!
ReplyDeleteit depends......
ReplyDeleteand it's not as if Adelaide water was pristine heaven fall to begin with. I get bruised by the lumps every time I take a shower.
