it's a gift when a student comes back for a second helping of workshop and even more so when the student has been working all weekend and produces a sample like the one above
all those delicious colours and patterns produced in a single dye session
absolutely magic!
yummy pallette. You know you re teaching a good one when your students do that. Congrats.
ReplyDeleteThat really is a super sample.
ReplyDeleteDo you premordant your fabric?
ReplyDeleteno Kathy, i don't premordant... the [toxic] metal salts traditionally employed as adjuncts to plant dyes aren't necessary.
ReplyDeleteAmazing, fantastic feathery patterning, and wonderful washed colours. Wonderful
ReplyDeleteI'd like to touch it with my eyes in the real
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSome day you are going to teach me.

ReplyDeletethe gift was not only that the student came back for a second workshop and that she had worked all weekend
ReplyDeletebut her absolute delight in her beautiful treasure
