Irish dramatist & socialist (1856 - 1950
there was a comment made in regard to the previous post
that set me thinking
the words were
"what if you did?"
here in Oz, it could suggest that the subject of the remark
was of little interest
on the other hand it may have indicated an enquiry
who knows
and it really doesn't matter
however it made me google the quote [above] and now
forces me to acknowledge that i have been erroneously ascribing this gem to Oscar Wilde
[and sometimes in a weak moment, Winston Churchill]
so that's sorted. good.
here's a Sunday harvest
bouquets all round on a glorious day
you have beautiful poseys, we have frost. never ceases to surprise me, this reversal.
ReplyDeleteWhat if you did...
ReplyDeletesounds a lot like what we said as kids to indicate what you did was of little consequence but we said ...
"So what if you did."
it's very clever that quote, the "separated" hit me like a brick and i often fall into it's potholes.
ReplyDeleteit is interesting that American where I live and Australia where you live were both originally from British ties.. and you are always in the opposite season makes reading the blogs extra interesting.

Thank you for the beautiful spring poseys. For most of us here in the US, no poseys. Instead, gorgeous dye pot color in hues of reds, oranges, russets, golds, yellows. Every shade of leaf color from the oaks, maples, sweet gum, hickories, and poplars. No need even to drive up into the higher elevations of the Great Smoky Mountains because the color spectacle is all around us in this little TN valley.
ReplyDeleteBearded Irises... and what a beauty! Those colors are Heavenly. Thankyou :)
